Sleepover is a very earnest attempt to make the world of online publishing better. Sleepover comprises David & Tag, designers of web and print, respectively, and working on the same page, finally. As a reader, as a writer, you already know this: the internet is no longer novel. It is, in fact, quite ordinary. And yet, even as the normalcy and heft of online writing ceases to be a question, the problem of composing and presenting it remains glaringly, gloriously unsolved. The problem is, as we see it, that ventures as disparate as neighborhood blogs and major news outlets and literary journals and records of esoterica are all being outfitted, wholly inappropriately, with the same baggy suit.

The solution Well, there is no one, single solution. And that is very much the point. A design in the service of your content must necessarily be as unique as your content itself. That much is obvious. What isn’t obvious, and what really excites us, are the as-yet-unseen innovations a strong collaboration between publishers (you) and designers (us) might produce. There are elegant and engaging  —  and fiscally sustainable  —  forms just waiting to be sussed out, and Sleepover asks that you come along for the… sussing

What We Can Do For You

Web Design Ah, you know this one. We design your site from top to bottom. With backgrounds in book and user interface design, we’re dedicated to serving both the writer and the reader. Confident typography and content-driven design are our specialty and we provide full-service web design from paper sketches on through to launch.

Editorial Design Sometimes content demands new forms, sometimes content is just so special it needs an extra layer of love. Sleepover can design individual articles or serial features to make the most of your content. We’ll work with your publishing system and draw on your existing design to expand the possibilities of your content.

Identity Design An honest and effective (and beautiful) identity is fundamental to a meaningful brand. We can help you differentiate and sharpen your presence by pinpointing what makes you unique. And, hey, if you’re not unique we can knock down walls and rebuild.

HTML & CSS Education A basic knowledge of HTML and CSS is essential to maintaining any website. We’d rather empower our clients than squeeze pennies, so we offer a simple educational program along with our design services so that you don’t have to rely on us to update your site.

A journal of modern thought, good ideas, and polished prose.

Tag Savage has been getting into trouble with printed media since he was suspended in the ninth grade for putting out his own school newspaper. When he’s not putting together exhibition catalogs for fine arts museums, he can be found dabbling in illustration and custom lettering. Do visit his web page.
